Tim Sivils Photography has always interested me. When I was a kid I would experiment with my parents Brownie, an Agfa Billie and other film cameras. I took a photography class in high school. I really never got beyond what could be called good snapshots. I did have two SLRs along the way, but they were both stolen. Even so, I was dependent on photo labs and lacked photo processing equipment. Then, about seven years ago I bought a Kodak digital p+s. I liked it. I could immediately see what I had shot and there was more control of the picture if I decided to keep it.When I met my wife Lisa, three years ago, she liked my photos and encouraged me to try to take it further. So I bought my first DSLR, a Pentax K-x, and some editing software. Since then I have been fortunate enough to win a few awards, have a couple of exhibits, and sell some photos. Recently I was given the chance to be a still photographer on a film set. With Lisa as an assistant (and a second camera) we were able to work together doing something that we both enjoy, taking pictures. We met some great people on the set and had a tiring, yet fun, experience.Digital photography has opened so many doors and led us to meet so many creative people in different aspects of art, photography, music and film. I have a lot to learn and I don't know where it will lead but it's something I love to do. Let's do it.
