Cindy HowardMy name is Cindy Howard. I have loved photography since I received my first Pentax camera many, many, many years ago. It was all manual focus, and I had no idea what I was doing, but I practiced and read, and got better. I then got a Minolta camera as a gift from my dad; it had some auto focus capabilities and I could still use the manual functions, and I thought I had gone to Heaven. I enrolled in a Photography class, and started learning - about taking pictures and developing them, and I loved every minute of it. When my oldest daughter was born, I had my built in model. She was placed in so many strange places, but we had a blast and I got some great photographs. Tragedy struck a few years later - my camera bag was stolen out of my house. I was devastated, but at the time, other things were more important, so my picture taking days were over for the time being. When digital cameras started making their way into stores, I was able to start taking pictures once again. Over the years, I purchased quite a few point and shoot cameras, and I used most of them until they died. On my fiftieth birthday, my husband bought me a Nikon DSLR, and then I got Photoshop Elements 12. This past March, I joined the Redlands Camera Club. I have learned so much from the classes I have taken. A few months ago, I used a tripod for the first time (love shooting with a tripod, by the way!), and a couple of weeks ago, I discovered my new best friend, the cloning tool in Photoshop. I have also met some really great people. It is so nice to meet with like-minded people to talk about something I love so much. I realize I have much to learn, but I am excited and thankful for the opportunity.
